ERCES Design, Commissioning and Test

TWS has the tools and knowledge to conduct NFPA compliant Emergency Responder Communications Enhancement System (ERCES) design, commissioning, and performance testing. We use our own internally developed tools to analyze and design ERCES uplink and downlink RF cascades. We conduct lab testing in our RF lab in Fort Mill, South Carolina. We can validate cables and antennas using Bird Site Hawk. We commission using mobile, handheld signal generators and spectrum analyzers. We test using PCTEL hardware and software.

Lab Analysis and Prototyping

TWS offers wireless system prototyping and proof of concept services. Its one thing to have confidence that an idea should work in theory, the prudent project owner is hesitant to go forward unless a concept is shown to be practically achievable. Prototyping can take the form of modelling and simulation, data analysis, lab test, or a combination of these. TWS works out of a dedicated lab space in Fort Mill, SC. Our lab is built and outfitted specifically around the design and commissioning of RF products and systems.

System Design

TWS offers system design and project planning consulting for your product or system design. Proper system level design is the cornerstone of any successful project. System design is a critical element that is often overlooked or given insufficient attention. System design is more than just choosing the proper system elements and interfaces. The long time scales and broad risk exposure of system level development requires attention to project management and business constraints (cost, schedule, risk) during the design process. A methodical approach to design is crucial. What are the system level requirements? What is the optimal practical solution to meet those requirements? How can the requirements be validated and when? What are the subsystem specifications to guarantee a properly performing system? Further, the constant evolution of tools and best practice creates a constant stream of new opportunities to reduce design time and risk, these factors must all be weighed at the system design stage to ensure an optimized product development project plan. A good system design is not just a technical description, it is a project design.

Project Engineering

TWS offers project engineering services for your product or system development. A team can only be successful with proper direction and guidance. The leader must be the technical expert on the entire project regardless of the complexity and scope. The leader must constantly reevaluate and react to a changing landscape as the project progresses. The leader must be able to articulate the technical status clearly and precisely to business management. TWS project engineers are focused on these core competencies and execute under the principle of servant leadership.
